Glenwood Springs, CO (September, 2008) – Golf Club Consulting, Inc. was retained by the owners of Hampton Pointe CC to review and analyze the course grow-in and maturation.  

Hampton Pointe CC is located in Bluffton, South Carolina and was designed by Nicklaus Design.  Chris Rule acted as the Design Associate on the project for Nicklaus Design.  Chris recently assisted Jack Nicklaus and Tom Doak on the highly acclaimed Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton, New York.

“Our commitment to our future members is extremely high, so we’ve asked Golf Club Consulting, Inc. to review the turf grow-in and our golf course maintenance plan,” said a representative of the ownership entity. 

“As with most course grow-ins, the primary issues are weed intrusion and establishing quality turf.  We will analyze the existing soil and water samples and probably re-test many areas of the course.  What makes this especially complicated is the course has had some very extensive rains during the grow-in.” said Eide
 
“Some people think that Florida and the Carolinas would be a tough place for us to be involved because we’re based in Colorado.  But my college roots are in Florida and we take on many assignments in the southeast part of the US” Eide added. 

The physical course inspection will take on August 28th and will be followed by a comprehensive off-site analysis of what was found during the course inspection.  The final analysis will include turf agronomy recommendations.
